In England and Wales it is a legal requirement that the civil partnership signing happens with a registrar. This is a short process which is restricted to a registered building and cannot include a religious or spiritual dimension. A civil partnership ceremony or blessing can be carried out wherever and whenever you like, by any person of your choice, either before or after the signing; allowing you complete freedom.

In Scotland however, an Interfaith Minister in entitled to carry out both the ceremonial and legal aspects of the marriage.
