1) Who are Rainbow Heart Services?

We are lesbian and gay ordained ministers who provide really special unique ceremonies and services to the gay community.  Ceremonies and services created from a place of deep understanding and love that will allow you to be in a place of comfort and pride.

We have a breadth of experiences in; ministry, business, marketing, advertising, coaching, counselling and education and can therefore bring a knowledge and understanding of the ‘real world’ to all aspects of our work.

We understand the frustrations of living in a sometimes homophobic world and Rainbow Heart Services is our response to this challenge for our community.  Another aspect of our service that sets us apart from others is we are a team; you may like two women officiating at your ceremony, a man, or one of each, all preferences can be catered for, it is your choice. We are here to respect your needs and will be flexible in every way we can.

3) What are the benefits of an interfaith ceremony?

An interfaith ceremony can include anything you what at any venue of your choice, everything is possible!  Nothing is prescribed or essential.  Elements included are those that are right for you, reflecting your beliefs and those of the people around you that are important to you.

So for example we can create a ceremony which includes elements of two different religious traditions to reflect a couple's different faith backgrounds.

Equally we can create a ceremony with no reference to a particular faith.

Central to any interfaith ceremony is choice, respect and flexibility.

6) What does ordained actually mean?

It means we have formally taken vows initially witnessed by our faculty and community of other ministers; and then subsequently witnessed by our friends and family in a public ceremony.

Each and everyone of us has our own personal vow which is a promise to live our lives for the greater good of all people.

Furthermore we are part of a professional graduate body with a shared philosophy and purpose; and commit to living and working by an agreed code of ethics.

7) What training did you have?

As interfaith ministers we spent 2 years learning and engaging with the major world faiths from which we gained a deep and thorough understanding of many spiritual practices and paths.

The course was both academic and experiential in content allowing us to develop into empathetic and knowledgeable ministers.  A large proportion of the course was spent creating and conducting ceremonies which are relevant to all aspects of daily life.

Through inner enquiry we strengthened our understanding and practice of meditation and spiritual connection and now have the skills necessary to spiritually counsel clients, helping them to find the spiritual path that is right for them; leading people to a full knowledge and acceptance of themselves.

We give people a safe space to explore their lives more deeply; themselves within life and their connection with their inner voice. This enables us all to remember that we are much more than our personal history.
